Self-empowered Family Health with Essential Oils

Becoming a mom I learned one lesson the hard way: those kid germs can be something else! Thankfully, not long into motherhood I was introduced to essential oils and boy has my life taken a shift since then! If I was to describe their effect on the health and wellbeing of my family in one term it would be SELF EMPOWERMENT. Let me explain. 

Before oils came along, my response to illness was something along the lines of “I hope we will get a doctor’s appointment in a timely manner and don’t have to wait for hours again“. We were dependent on resources outside of our control and most often that road ended in a prescription of antibiotics or other medications with side effects. 

Fast-forward to nowadays and I treat common everyday life ailments with dōTERRA essential oils from the comfort of my home AND I learned to value proactive health prevention so we’re not getting sick as much in the first place!

But how does this treating and preventing I talk about actually look like you may wonder? Here are some examples from my household based on the 3 ways to use dōTERRA essential oils:

Aromatically

Prevent: diffuse dōTERRA’s Balance Grounding blend at supper time to help everyone wind down after a busy day

Treat: diffuse Eucalyptus oil in your bedroom to keep airways open throughout the night 

Topically

Prevent: take a soothing epsom salt bath before bedtime including Lavender oil or dōTERRA’s Serenity Restful blend.

Treat: apply dōTERRA’s On Guard Immune blend to the spine, neck and bottoms of the feet (the areas with the most nerve endings that allow for quick oil absorption) 

Internally

Prevent: increase fluid intake and absorption by putting a couple drops of a citrus oil (Lemon, Wild Orange, Lime, Grapefruit – so many options!) in your drinking water

Treat: put immune-supporting oils like Oregano, Tea Tree or Frankincense in a veggie capsule to take internally

These are just a few of many ways to utilize essential oils in your home.
