Full Faith Mode – Why Being in My 40’s Feels so Freeing!

I went skateboarding with a mom friend today. It was a little mix of catching up while doing something fun and I highly recommend it!  We were talking about all the usual mom things and all the sudden I found myself describing the difference between my 20s, 30s, and 40s. When I was done, she asked “Have you shared this with anyone?”… I said “nope, but I will”… so here goes…We are about to really mix things up in our lives and it feels very exciting, yet very scary and unknown all at the same time. I keep telling people around me that I am going full faith mode. There are a lot of moving parts here that I’m not yet prepared to share, but one thing I know for sure is that for the first time in my life I have a deep seeded knowing and trust in myself and the universe.

The way I see it, my 20’s was all about having fun, doing crazy things, high energy, and high adventure. I had a blast in my 20s and wouldn’t change anything about it for the world. I was advancing in my career. Dabbled in my first business. Got married and traveled all over the world with my best friend and husband. In essence, I think your 20’s should be all about trying new things, being adventurous, and to some degree putting care to the wind.

Then my 30’s hit and all the sudden I started to wake up to the realities of growing up. I got the urge to slow down a bit and be more intentional with my choices and actions. I started thinking about the path I was setting for my life. There emerged a timeline for things and it was up to me to decide what I wanted to do about said timeline. Mainly to follow it or not. I began analyzing everything and approaching life from a lens of “does this make sense or not”. Rather than tossing care to the wind, my 30’s was all about “what makes sense”. It all worked out… I excelled in my career and grew my family. There are a variety of things I would change about my 30’s but the challenges faced have certainly brought me to where i am today and for that I am immensely grateful for the gifts in disguise.

As my 30’s came to a close what emerged is a desire to blend and tweak the themes of the last 2 decades. This is how I arrive at full-faith mode. It’s one part throwing care to the wind, but this time with a deep seeded trust and confidence that I know what is best for me and my family. It is also one-part setting a clear plan but instead of following to a tee, checking in with my gut and heart before taking each step and trusting the urge to deviate from the original plan. There is so much more confidence, faith in self while being based in life experience and recognition that even the best laid plans require tweaking and flexibility to emerge at the best version. As I approach 41… I’m seeing the maturity that comes with your 40’s as a freeing experience when you begin to truly embody yourself, unencumbered by outside influences and ready to live soul-aligned in body, mind, spirit.

Full-faith mode has arrived and I am beyond ready for it!

PS…

I believe everyone is on their own timeline and the themes of their life experiences are beautifully individual. I’d love to hear how you view the theme of your 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond…When we share these things it can give perspectives for our lives and grow connections between shared experiences, so please drop your thoughts below.
